23rd December

We have spent the majority of the past few weeks promoting the sale of the ebook through sites like Twitter, Hubpages, Facebook and Mibba.

We also had our book reviewed through another literary review blog which we have networked with previously through Twitter, The Masquerade Crew.

11th December

I have just finished editing Alex’s book so now all the stories are in the ebook and i have finally managed to convert it into a .Mobi format. It was a little trickier than i first thought it would be.

I uploaded the .Mobi file to Amazon and in 12 hours the ebook will have passed the review period and, all going well, it will be onsale in the UK and the USA. In a further 48 hours the book will also be on sale in non-english speaking countries.

The ebook is now online for sale on both Amazon and Smashwords.

Day 16

10th December

Today is the final deadline day for the ebook. We have received no more submissions so we have decided to include Katy Hulme, Alex Brant, Rebecca Besser, Myself and Alex as contributors to the ebook.

I have begun to edit through Alex’s book, adjusting the few mistakes while changing the tense from past tense to present to make the book a little scarier.

With the final stories decided upon and in the final stages of editing i began putting the words into the final word document. I have also created an interactive contents page and begun to put the document into the desired format to allow for easier conversion.

Day 15

24th November

My story is now completed and ready for inclusion in the document. With my contribution (story-wise) over i have moved on to editing and proof-reading the other submissions we have received. I have also had Alex send me his story to read through to check if he has made any small mistakes, English is only his second language so a few spelling mistakes and grammatical problems may need changing.

I have made a cursory search of creating a Kindle ebook from a word document.

Day 14

20th November

I have finished my first draft of my story today and have just begun editing the 7,500 thriller/horror result.

We have also received another two submissions. One from Katy Hulme and one without a name, which is very helpful.

We have decided to include 5 stories in the ebook, aiming for a final word count of roughly 30,000 words.

Me and Alex have both read all the submissions at the moment and have decided on the submissions we like at the moment.

There are another 20 days until the final submission date.

10 November

For the past week our primary focus has been on answering questions and finishing the final bits of our story alongside our pressing concerns of other Uni work.

Today though we have recently recieved our second and third submission for the ebook.

Alexandrina Brant, an aspiring writer like ourselves, sent us a thriller short story entitled, ”A Rosary, A Fume Cabinet, and a Music Book.” Read the rest of this entry »

3 November

After many hours and some wiki-how searching i have completed and uploaded to Facebook the front-cover for our ebook.

Alex was unable to do the front cover as he has had to restart his story. My story is almost finished so i have taken on more of the promoting, networking and designing side of the project. Read the rest of this entry »
